Hello! My name is Vivian Rodriguez, and by day I work as a lawyer.
As we all know (or suspect), lawyers are incredibly wealthy people and usually suffer from workaholism. Fortunately for me, I have managed to avoid both of these conditions, for the most part. Instead, I concentrate on practicing in a way that fosters my personal and family values and makes practicing law more meaningful to me.
This blog was born from my experience in searching for tools to help me create a meaningful, balanced and profitable practice. Using online marketing and tools as a solo practitioner is a way to create the kind of practice I enjoy while providing legal services. Along the way I have not only learned to do my own online marketing and started using online tools, but also that many of us feel intimidated by the ever-changing technology available to do this.
technolese is where I share what I have learned (and continue to learn) with fellow solos to increase online visibility, converting visitors into clients; and, more importantly, how to use online tools to create the kind of practice you want.
If you like what I discuss, consider subscribing to receive a notice about new posts and contributing your experience as well; if not, that’s fine too, of course. Please note that I intend to post only once or twice a week because, as I said before, I have managed to avoid becoming “an incredibly wealthy lawyer” in the traditional sense, and so I have to actually work as a lawyer. (The truth is that I enjoy practicing more now than I used; and this is no doubt due to the fact that my practice became more manageable as I started integrating a lot of online tools that were previously not available. I certainly don’t want my skills to become rusty.)
I’d love to hear the challenges other solos may face in creating an online presence as well as the tools you are integrating to make practicing more fulfilling (or, dare I say, more fun) without foregoing a comfortable lifestyle.
Feel free to share your questions, comments and observation with me via email as well if that is more comfortable for you. You can reach me on my personal email vivianrodriguez01(at)gmail.com
Best to you,
Vivian
